If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen on Ward 411 for a staff nurse post. A 36 bedded Neurology ward, some of these beds being occupied by some simple Neurosurgical patients.
Seeking for an enthusiastic band 5 nurse that has a passion for Neurology nursing. We thrive on sharing our knowledge and training junior members of staff and students. You will work closely with the nursing team, as well as the MDT, having responsibility for the smooth running of the ward, providing clinical leadership to the nursing team and ensuring that evidence based care is delivered to a high clinical standard. We have just employed our first mental health nurse and also have learning disability nurses as part of the team, showing just how diverse and collaborative our working is. In the last few weeks we have become the first ward nationally to open a TNA led learning environment.

Main duties of the job
Delivery of high quality care to the complex neurology patients that are on 411. Dealing with day to day care, assistance with personal care, performing clinical skills ie ECG, phlebotomy, cannulation
There will be development opportunities to expand knowledge - giving of chemo after the training phase is over.
We have complex Neurology patients in our higher dependency area of the ward which tracheostomies and needing more acute nursing.

- Experience of working on your own and in a team in a health care environment delegating to others within a team / providing supervision
- Willingness to become a practice supervisor / assessor to meet Nursing and Midwifery Council standards for student supervision and assessment
