Job summary
University Hospitals Birmingham Foundation Trust (UHB) is recruiting a 10 PA Consultant Clinical Oncologist, to join their dynamic team in a permanent position.
The successful post holder will join an innovative team of 42 Consultant Oncologists, to deliver an Oncology service. Our services are delivered in our purpose built cancer centre, which is one of the largest regional centres for non-surgical cancer treatment. It has established links with surrounding cancer units and we accept referrals from across the UK and abroad.

Main duties of the job
Applicants are invited to apply for a substantive post of Consultant clinical Oncologist. The site specialist interests will be agreed on acceptance of the post. Provisionally, Urology, Sarcoma and neuroendocrine Oncology tumour sites will be covered, with outpatient clinics across UHB.
The successful candidate will have a commitment to high quality patient care & significant experience in the delivery of chemotherapy and managing side effects.
The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop disease specific areas of interest, working alongside the current Oncology team. In keeping with the department's ambition as a teaching hospital, the appointee will have the opportunity to engage in research and would be encouraged to utilise world class expertise based on Campus within the University of Birmingham (UoB), the Cancer Research Clinical Trials Unit and the Institute for Translational Medicine to progress the research strategy under the umbrella of Birmingham Health Partners.
The appointee will participate in the attending and on-call rota for in-patient management of Oncology patients (1 in 14) based at QEH site.
The appointee will be expected to provide outpatient care through a set number of clinics per week. They will also contribute to speciality MDTs and participate in monthly mortality and morbidity meetings, quality meetings and educational sessions.
