Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham (UHB) is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated person to lead the Quality and Governance service within Imaging. This role is pivotal to ensuring Imaging services are delivered to the highest standards of evidenced based practise that meets the needs of UHB patients, their families and the wider health community.

The role requires the post holder to have a sound understanding of quality, patient safety, risk management, QSI, data and clinical effectiveness.as well as knowledge of radiology practice and the regulatory frameworks we adhere to.

The successful candidate will put the patient at the centre of their decision making and have excellent communication and leadership skills. The individual will have a passion for quality within imaging services and be able to develop systems and processes to provide statutory and regulatory assurance regarding the quality and safety of the services we deliver.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will promote a positive learning environment where changes are established and embedded across a number of clinical sites/areas. They will ensure there are appropriate systems in place on the reporting, management and investigation of clinical incidents, complaints and compliments, including root cause analysis as required. They will lead investigations into clinical incidents in an open and just culture to reduce risk and improve quality and safety.

This post is full time and will support the Heads of Imaging and imaging General Manager in the delivery of the Imaging service and will work closely with the Imaging Modality Managers for all disciplines, covering all hospital sites in UHB with some travel between sites.
