Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is looking to appoint Stores person to develop and maintain the movement of goods, materials and equipment to and from the estates stores

This role will be principally based across the large and complex acute hospital estate at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital and its satellite sites, although support across the Trust may be required at times.

The stores person will be required to utilise the computer stock control systems in place to order, issue, track and monitor materials, raise orders to replenish stock, do stock inventories and generate reports.

The successful candidate will need to be able to issue stock to staff, receive deliveries and re stock shelves as required, ensure the stores area is clean and aisles clear, and inform line manager of any concerns

The nature of this role will require the successful applicant to work in accordance with Trusts safety rules and procedures at all times and there will be some overtime requirements

Main duties of the job

To issue, order, and replenish stock to trade staff, carrying out regular checks, audits and inventoriesTo control the movement of goods, materials and equipment to and from estates storesTo use the stock control software to track orders, stock numbers and requestsTo update calibration of instruments and C.O.S.H.H sheets periodically as required
