Job summary

We are looking to appoint a post-doctoral research fellow with strong qualitative skills to work on the NIHR RfPB funded 'The FAIR Study' which aims to address inequalities in the management of food allergy in South Asian adults by developing the content for supportive interventions. As the Research Fellow on the project, you will be expected to:

i)conduct interviews with South Asian patients with food allergy and healthcare professionals delivering care to identify facilitators/barriers to food allergy self-management and inform intervention development

ii)apply theoretical modelling to create a set of guiding principles for supportive intervention design and map its content to behaviour change techniques and develop a logic model

iii)Interactively draft and refine supportive intervention content with key stakeholder involvement. You will be working within a multi-disciplinary team including Clinical Allergists and Immunologists, Psychologists, Dietician, Nurses and patient and public involvement advocates. Duration: 12months

Main duties of the job

Contribute to the day-to-day management of the project in line with the agreed objectives of the project to ensure that goals are achieved and ensuring compliance with Trust Research Governance policy

* Liaise with NHS sites and clinical research networks in order to identify participants in order to gain consent and maintain positive relationships with participants and NHS colleagues throughout the project

* Comply with ethical procedures and data protection requirements

* Keep detailed logs of activities and decisions

* Present findings on an interim basis

* Conduct qualitative interviews with patients and healthcare professionals

* Analyse data under supervision of the PI and Co-I

* Apply theoretical modelling and develop a logic model

* Contribute to report writing, presentations, publications and subsequent applications for grant funding

* To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably requested and that are commensurate with the nature and grade of the post
