Job summary

An exciting opportunity to join the Solihull Community Specialist Palliative Care Team based at Marie Curie Hospice West Midlands in Solihull.

You will be joining a team of committed and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialists, Palliative Care Consultants, Therapists and the wider MDT, providing expert high quality patient focused care ,advice and support to patients, those important to them and Health Care Professionals. You will be working closely with GP's, Community Teams and Acute Trust staff.

We are looking to appoint a highly skilled, experienced and motivated nurse to join our Team. Excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence are essential to fulfil these roles. You will share our passion to strive to improve and enhance care for this group of patients through direct caseload management, teaching, service improvement, research and audit.

Main duties of the job

Applications are invited from Registered Nurses with:

*Demonstrable experience of working as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative care

*Highly developed clinical skills

*Good leadership

*Relevant health related degree

*Post registration qualification in Palliative care

*Advanced communication skills

The Specialist Palliative Care CNS Team is a 7 day service which requires flexibility to cover weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis. Car driver is essential.

  • * Significant post registration experience at Band 6 or above Clinical Nurse Specialist within practice related field to role applied for
  • * Evidence of ability to professionally lead / manage a team of staff.
  • * Demonstrable understanding of the management responsibility for pay and non-pay resources associated with a clinical service
  • * Evidence of delivering change management both personally and as a facilitator.
  • * Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and of ongoing professional development/ competence.
