Job summary
We are looking for new enthusiastic apprentices to join our payroll team, to become our payroll officers of the future.
You will have an opportunity to work within the NHS and contribute to the overall service that provides healthcare for the UK.
NHS payroll is a very sought after skill and our recruitment drive of late demonstrates that experience payroll officers particularly with NHS payroll experience are very rare.
You need to have good mathematical skills, be methodical and organised and be ready to work in a high volume, fast pace environment.

Main duties of the job
JOB PURPOSE:
*To support the provision of an accurate and timely payroll service for our clients
*To be responsible for a section of weekly and monthly payroll with supervision
*To process in accordance with statutory and NHS national terms and conditions of employment.
*To attain a qualification through apprenticeship training for Payroll.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.To support an allocated section of weekly and monthly payroll ensuring staff are paid accurately and in a timely manner
2.Under direct supervision- processing of all information received in relation to allocated payrolls, within current and previous pay periods
3. To attain knowledge of NHS terms and conditions of employment and to ensure payroll statutory legislation in terms of tax, national insurance etc is compliant.
We are looking for someone with the following attributes:
1.Excellent verbal and written communication skills
2.Ability to use Microsoft office software to complete existing templates and spreadsheets
3.Ability to prioritise workload and meet strict deadlines
4.Proven interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships
5.Ability to adopt a flexible approach, working on own initiative as well as part of a team
6.Excellent telephone manner
7.Attention to detail and accuracy
