Job summary

An opportunity has arisen at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Estates Department for an Estates Project Managers with a technical background, to work within the current Estates operational team. The role is suited to someone as a mechanical bias manager. Reporting to the Estates Manager, you will lead in all ongoing and new capital backlog maintenance related projects, for the operation and maintenance of Queen Elizabeth Hospital site whilst also supporting day to day operation activity in the Trust UHB estates team at the QE.

This role will require a self-motivated individual with the skills to assess and manage fast moving situations while motivating, supporting and developing a team culture and mentality within the workforce. The nature of this role will require the successful applicant to take part in out of hours working as required for the needs of the Trust.

The post-holder will be a technically competent NHS manager with project management experience to help deliver that technical expertise from the professional technical qualifications and experience garnered, from a well-rounded NHS career. Whether that is in Private Healthcare or NHS Healthcare environments.

Main duties of the job

* Support the running of a project stream and will be able to produce reports and up to date

information on the outputs to all relevant Partners.

* Lead on specific issues and prepare/deliver presentations as required.

* Responsible for managing interface on QE site with the Private Funding Initiative (PFI) Facilities

Management (FM) and Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) teams for projects and any compliance

issues as identified.

* Supports the Estates Manager in complying with the management of ventilation and trust/site

strategy

* Obtain appropriate approval for individual project proposals including preparation of standard

operating procedures (SOPs).

* Plan and coordinate the effective and timely completion of all associated ethics and

governance requirements for any project.

* Develop and directly manage control measures and strategies in order to minimise the risk of

Legionnaires Disease in Trust premises and for compliance with the Health and Safety.

Commission's Approved Code of Practice 'L8' -- The Control of Legionella Bacteria in various

mechanical systems.

* Ensure procedures for operations and maintenance, including the requirements contained in

DSS Guidance/Codes of Practice, British Standards, Building Regulations, HTM's, Guidance

Notes (Health & Safety requirements/legislation) and other similarly accepted documents are

adhered to and updated.
