Job summary

We are excited to be able to offer this fantastic opportunity to work within a passionate acute medicine team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. You will be able to work across a multitude of different wards with different specialities (including respiratory, diabetes, infectious diseases, thoracic surgery and Healthcare of the Older Person).

You will be providing support to the occupational therapy team and will be assisting registered therapy staff to provide an effective and efficient patient centred service.

You will have the opportunity to support the registered therapists with assessments, rehabilitation, referrals and completing community visits.

We will offer regular training and support as well as a robust induction programme.

Main duties of the job

- Work alongside a multi-disciplinary team to provide excellent patient care

- Attend meetings as required

- Have excellent time-management and an ability to work autonomously.

- Be able to assess patients as directed by registered staff.

- Be able to use computer programmes effectively

- To be able to communicate effectively with patients, relatives and all members of the multi-disciplinary team.

- To be able to assist registered staff with visits to the community.

- To assist the registered staff with the provision of appropriate adaptive equipment.
