Main duties of the job

As a band 5 Paediatric Nurse working in Heartlands &/or Good Hope Hospital, you will join an established multi-disciplinary team who provide care to Infants, children and young people who are patients at UHB. We promote a family centred care approach to nursing and collaborate closely with parents, carers and their children when planning and delivering care.

As a staff nurse you will practice autonomously and be responsible and accountable for delivering safe, compassionate, person centred, evidence based nursing care that respects and maintains dignity and human rights. You will be responsible for the assessment of patient care needs, planning and implementing programmes of care, delivering treatment and evaluating these programmes of care without direct supervision. You will work in accordance with Trust Policies, Procedures and Guidelines and adhere to the NMC Code at all times.

The post holder will practice in a holistic, non-judgmental, caring and compassionate manner that avoids assumptions, supports social inclusion and recognises and respects individual choice and acknowledges diversity. They will work in partnership with other health and social care professionals, students and trainees and agencies, service users, their carer's and families.

We expect all of our nurses to promote a positive attitude and motivate staff members to deliver compassionate care whilst developing them-selves professionally.
