Job summary
We are looking to appoint a compassionate Nurse Leader with excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence. You will share our passion to strive to improve and enhance care for this group of patients through leadership, caseload management, teaching, service improvement, research and audit.
This is an ideal opportunity to join the Solihull Community Specialist Palliative Care Team based at Marie Curie Hospice West Midlands in Solihull.
You will lead a team of committed and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialists working with Consultants, Therapists and wider MDT to ensure that the service and team are providing expert high quality patient focused care to advise and support patients, families and Health Care Professionals. You will be working closely with GP's, Community Teams and Acute Trust staff. As an integral part of community nursing you will support community teams to feel confident and competent to deliver good end of life patient centred care.
Main duties of the job
Applications are invited from Registered Nurses with:
*Demonstrable experience of working in a Palliative care capacity or in a Clinical Nurse Specialist post or leadership capacity
*Highly developed clinical skills
*Good leadership and managerial skills
*Relevant health related degree
*Post registration qualification in Palliative care
*Advanced communication skills
The Specialist Palliative Care CNS Team is a 7 day service which requires flexibility to cover weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis. Car driver is essential.
