Job summary

UHB are seeking to appoint four Consultant Neurologists to sustain and develop existing services (inpatients and outpatients) providing comprehensive care for patients with general/specialist neurological conditions.

Based at the QE Hospital;these posts will facilitate the provision of Neurology and Specialist services for the West Midlands region with expectation of service delivery across any UHB site.It is likely that there will be time spent in partner centres within the regional neuroscience network i.e.Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospital (SWBH). This will be determined by individual interests and needs of the partner sites. The successful candidate will, alongside general neurological duties, provide predominantly outpatient care as well as some inpatient care of adults with a range of neurological conditions and help co-ordinate the long term care of such patients in the community.

Essential criteria for the post includes: Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practice; Basic Medical Degree (e.g.MBBS); entry on GMC Specialist Register via CCT (Proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview); European Community Rights or CESR; Evidence of Higher Specialist Training in Neurology (or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from date of interview); Full MRCP or equivalent; a wide experience of working in Neurology.
