Job summary

The Central and South (CAS) Genomic Medicine Service Alliance (GMSA) is one of seven GMSAs commissioned by the NHS England in March 2021. Through the introduction of cutting-edge genomic technologies, including whole genome sequencing, and a diverse range of transformation projects, it is tasked with embedding genomic medicine across the NHS footprint and ensuring greater equity of access.

The GMSA's build upon the work of the 100,000 Genomes Project and is central to the delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan. The GMSA's role encompasses establishing and embedding genomics in routine clinical care, as well as working closely with healthcare partners across the NHS and research bodies across the UK.

The CAS GMSA covers the largest geography of all the GMSAs with around 12 million patients living within our patch which includes in the West Midlands, Oxfordshire, and Wessex.

The incoming Project Manager will join the CAS GMSA at an exciting time. The CAS GMSA team are responsible for the delivery of both local and national projects which are at the cutting-edge of innovation within healthcare. We are seeking a dynamic, innovative and driven individual, with a passion to succeed.

The post holder will work closely with clinicians and senior managers across the GMSA and Genomic Laboratory Hub (GLH), to ensure projects are delivered effectively and efficiently.

Main duties of the job

*Driving and coordinating the planning and delivery of the programme of work, including the development of project plans with appropriate phasing timescales and budgets to ensure delivery against key project milestones using appropriate project planning approaches;

*Developing systems for tracking and reporting against the programme plan, enabling accurate reports to be provided;

*Providing effective support to develop and implement systems to ensure information is properly managed and best practice is shared across the team

*Organising and facilitating necessary meetings and discussions with a range of internal and external stakeholders

*Providing regular updates, briefings and progress reports to key stakeholders, senior managers and partners across the programme, both verbal and written, in accordance with emergent formats and timescales;

*Working across the organisation, with partners and the sector to share knowledge, ideas and information to inform the development of the programme;
