Consultant Radiologist with a specialist interest in Cardiothoracic Radiology

Applications are invited for 2 permanent Consultant Radiologist positions with a specialist interest in Cardiothoracic Radiology within University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust to be based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Heartlands Hospital.

We are offering the opportunity to join an established and proactive Consultant Radiologist team in order to respond to the need of our growing service. UHB has a large radiology training scheme so an enthusiasm and aptitude for teaching and training would be an advantage. The candidate would be expected to participate with colleagues in any out-of-hours provision that is required. Applicants must be on or eligible for GMC specialist register for Radiology.

Qualifications

Essential

  • *Entry on GMC Specialist Register; eligible for entry on Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview
  • *Evidence of Continuing Professional Development including CME

Experience

Essential

  • *Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required to gain UK CCT in Clinical radiology
  • *Can demonstrate a commitment to cardiothoracic imaging as in radiology training or in an existing post to date with good experience gained in: Thoracic CT e.g. lung cancer and ILD, Cardiac CT and MRI.
  • *Ability to offer radiological opinion on a range of common on call diagnostic problems.
  • *An understanding of the requirements of Clinical Governance and Audit.
  • *Commitment to service improvement and clinical audit.
  • *Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with other clinical specialties involved with imaging.
  • *Ability and willingness to work within the Trust and NHS performance framework and targets
  • *Knowledge of Complaints; ethical issues and Clinical Governance
