Job summary

The BSOL Procurement Collaborative (BSOL PC), hosted by UHB provides procurement and supply chain services to UHB; Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust (BWC) and the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (ROH).

From 1st July 2019 UHB became the host of a new NHS Shared Procurement Service, called the Birmingham Hospital Alliance NHS Shared Procurement Service. Subsequently, in April 2021 the service was renamed as the BSOL Procurement Collaborative, in order to align the service with the future National direction in moving towards an Integrated Care System (ICS) across the region. As part of our service delivery expansion we are looking to recruit two pro-active, self motivated and ambitious Deputy Heads of Procurement to join our team. These new roles will provide a real opportunity for those staff looking to enhance their career in a senior management role reporting into the Senior Management Team.

These roles will be based at the BSOL PC offices, Regent Court Birmingham, but could also involve visiting / working at any of the BSOL PC sites as and when required. For further details please contact either,

Main duties of the job

Qualifications

Essential

  • * Full Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (MCIPS) qualification or evidence of working towards, or relevant / equivalent experience.

Desirable

  • Educated to degree level.
  • Project Management "Prince 2" qualified

Experience

Essential

  • * Evidence of experience of Line Managing a Team
  • * Experience of successfully working in a business service function at senior level within a complex organization
  • * Demonstrable successful project management experience with proven ability to deliver projects on-time.
  • * Knowledge of public sector procurement rules and legislation.
  • * Commercially astute in leading on the development, negotiation and delivery of procurement projects.
  • * Fully conversant with the application of EU/UK procurement legislation/tendering processes & procedures
  • * Experience of contract, stakeholder & supplier management
  • * Delivery of demanding savings targets through Procurement activities
  • * Experienced in using a range of computer packages /applications.
  • * Evidence of on-going professional development
