Job summary

A Principal position has become available within the Department of Maxillofacial Prosthetics at the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for a forward thinking team player to join our busy department. An ability to lead and continue service delivery whilst helping to deliver a team ethos is essential.

To deliver clinical, scientific and advisory services to patients undergoing Reconstructive procedures or Rehabilitation using implants, splints and prostheses.

*To provide expert advice and consultancy on Maxillofacial Prosthetic issues regionally.

*Specialist interest in Digital technology-This role is to further enhance and broaden current practice and to income generate to the post

*Accountable for CIP's in line with departmental annual CIP'S

*Joint lead specialist Facial Prosthetics programme QEHB/BCH

*Required to provide cover for a twenty four hour emergency on call service

*To initiate/lead and contribute to research and development programmes

*To electronically scan and capture digital data using departmental hand held, intra oral and model scanners

*To manipulate clinical data i.e. 3D CT MRI to simulate and plan surgical procedures

*Required to undertake the development and application of teaching programs for the Units MPT Training Program

*Instigate and maintain Quality management system and BSI ISO 13485 accreditation

*Required to undertake stock control and ordering of department consumables and equipment
