Job summary
We are looking for an accomplished Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations of Heartbeat Primary Care CIC. This comprises the distinct business operations of Heartbeat and Harewood Medical Practice. All aspects of the Job Description should be interpreted accordingly; delivering your duties predominantly on site and with regular attendance at both office bases, Northallerton and Catterick Garrison.
You will be responsible for financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. You will be supported by our excellent AAT level 4 newly qualified Finance Assistant and will work closely with our Executive Director and provide financial advice and guidance to a range of senior colleagues to support our delivery of high quality clinical services.
Together with the Executive Director you will report to and engage with our board on a regular basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled finance professional to make a significant impact on the financial well-being of a leading healthcare organization.
Main duties of the job
The Finance Managers role is:
- to support the Executive Director and Board in developing and maintaining a financially sustainable business
- to effectively manage and develop accounts team members and the accounting function
- to support all colleagues on financial aspects of their roles
- to produce and present complete and accurate management accounts on a timely basis
- to provide financial forecasts and other financial information to support strategic decision making
- to provide contracted financial support to aligned Primary Care Networks

- Proven experience as a Finance Manager or in a similar role within the healthcare sector.
- Qualified accountant: professional accounting body qualification.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles relevant to healthcare organisations, ideally Primary Care.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities.
- Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office applications.
