Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our expanding Speech and Language Therapy team. ECCH Speech and Language Therapy are a small supportive team of experienced therapists who provide both the acute inpatient service to the James Paget University Hospital including regular SLT led videofluoroscopy clinics and the community outpatient service for a range of acquired communication and swallowing difficulties including the Stroke Early Supported Discharge (ESD) service. The postholder will have opportunities to experience the ECCH Neurology MDT. We place a high value on team working and you will need to be patient focused, outcome driven and flexible in your approach.
The successful candidate will be a qualified or soon to be qualified and HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist who is keen to develop their skills in adult Speech and Language Therapy in the community setting. It is therefore suitable for a current band 5 SLT or soon to graduate final year SLT student.
A post graduate qualification in dysphagia whilst desirable is not essential as this training can be offered when in post.
Main duties of the job

With support from more experienced colleagues the successful applicant will be community based assessing and managing people with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties once dysphagia trained.
