Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Project manager to join our team and play a key role in delivering transformational change to support our strategy. The role will work with colleagues across the Health and Social Care system, including internal and external stakeholders to support the delivery of a portfolio of programmes and projects.

The Programme team here at East Coast Community Healthcare (ECCH) is made up of friendly, dynamic, supportive and skilled project professionals with a great ethos and drive for delivery. If you are passionate about change and have the skills and experience to lead and support the improvement of quality, productivity, patient and staff experience, and business development Projects then this role is for you.

Applicants should have demonstrable experience in managing projects and delivering business change through the complete lifecycle from scoping and definition to evidencing benefits realised.

Main duties of the job

To project manage, deliver and support internal and cross partner and system programmes and projects in support of ECCH's strategy

- Programme and project governance support across the organisation

- Lead on initial analysis and scoping activities associated with programmes and projects

- Develop programme and project deliverables and associated documents

- Analyse complex project information, develop prioritisation and dependency management across projects and programmes

- Be responsible for effective risk and issue management within specific programmes and projects

- Ensure programme and project monitoring and reporting is timely and to required standards

- Monitor budgets for individual programmes and projects

- Lead on benefits tracking and reporting; ensuring programmes and projects stay within their tolerance for change

- Provide advice and guidance to operational colleagues in relation to business and service development & transformation process and management

- Build strong relationships with partner organisations and other stakeholders across the Health and Social Care system in order to support and enhance business development and change planning and opportunities

- Develop and manage the repository of programme and project management standards and tools

The Programme Team is a busy environment, and the successful candidate must be able to prioritise their own workload, manage their time and complete tasks against the required time-frames and will be required to have a flexible approach to working to meet the demands of programme and project delivery. You will be required to manage a varied workload and should be able to work autonomously and as part of a team. We use both traditional and Agile project management methodologies and experience of both would be an advantage.

Development of programme and project deliverables and associated documents e.g. product descriptions, risk registers, action logs and highlight reports etc. to ensure one version of the truth whilst promoting recognised project standards and disciplines.

Lead on initial analysis and scoping activities associated with programmes and projects.

Integrity checking and issue resolution for outputs of programmes and projects.

Ensure programme and project monitoring and reporting is timely and to required standards.

Analyse complex project information, develop prioritisation and dependency management across projects and programmes.

Handle complex analysis activities in often contentious situations to ensure common understanding of difficult and sometimes unpalatable ideas.

Support process and workflow development of programmes / projects with sponsors and service leads.

Be responsible for effective risk and issue management processes within specific programmes and projects.

Monitoring budgets (manpower and cost) for individual programmes and projects.

Be responsible for facilitating effective resolution of programme and project resource conflicts across multiple stakeholder groups.

Be responsible for ongoing benefits tracking and reporting; ensuring programmes and projects stay within their tolerance for change.

Facilitating innovation and improvement, including supporting the development and delivery of workshops.

To coordinate and support the development of service models, alongside operational leads, that could generate new business, and develop associate business cases in conjunction with key individuals.

Supporting business development and tenders, including support for the completion of ICS bidding pro-formas, PQQs and ITT submissions, or assisting others by performing specific functions or providing specific information to the bid.

Using excellent communication and analysis skills the post holder will follow a methodical approach to elicit and document user requirements and be adept at translating these requirements for practical application.

Provide advice and guidance to operational colleagues in relation to business and service development & transformation process and management.

Develop robust partnership working arrangements and build strong relationships with, commissioners, partner organisations, service user representatives and other stakeholders in order to support and enhance business development and change planning and opportunities.

Line manage the Project Coordinator, ensuring appraisals, objectives and reviews are completed as required and that the post holder is mentored to develop own initiative and high quality skills.

Co-ordinate/support coproduction activity from an Operational Services perspective.
