Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and carers, respecting patient confidentiality with privacy and respect for diverse cultural backgrounds and requirements.

To line manage band 2 support workers working within the service including PDP, supervision, expenses and annual leave.

To oversee the duty rota to ensure coverage of clinics at Beccles and Solebay.

To contribute to the clinical governance agenda through participation in clinical risk assessment and management.

To participate in clinical trials and audits as required.

To make a positive contribution to excellent communications within the organisation.

To be responsible for safe storage of equipment and medication

To liaise with ECCH medical equipment team as necessary

To contribute to the delivery of the JPUH community clinics run from Beccles and Solebay.,

To create an environment conducive to effective working, respecting and supporting staff to deliver high quality clinical services.

Flexibility to work across bases within the organisation if required.

To undertake continuous professional development as identified through appraisal and personal development planning.

Ensure own compliance with the Nursing and Midwifery Code of Conduct.

Ensure a high standard of record keeping is achieved in line with ECCH and professional standards.

To report any concerns via QUEST incident reporting system.

Deal with verbal complaints and incidents and escalate any issues to operational lead as required.

Qualifications

Essential

• Professional Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council. (NMC) Registered Nurse Level (Adult)
• BSc in Nursing practice or equivalent

Essential

• Flexible, team-orientated approach to work.
• Solution and results focused.
• Ability to organise and manage workload and effectively delegate where appropriate to band 2 support workers.
• Ability to travel independently throughout the locality in accordance with role requirements.

Experience

Essential

• The ability to work unsupervised.
• Evidence of continuous professional development.
• The ability to demonstrate a comprehensive level of clinical knowledge and competence within the clinical sphere of practice.

Desirable

• Mentoring.
• Experience of working in an outpatient setting.
• Experience of Ophthalmology and general surgery.

Skills and Kowledge

• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Ability to engage with patients to develop effective treatment plans.
• Ability to positively support staff, patients and their carers.
• Competence in Health Coaching, supporting patients to change health behaviours and beliefs.
