Job summary
Are you an experienced qualified nurse who enjoys working in partnership with patients and their families? We are seeking a passionate and motivated Registered General Nurse to join our Night community nursing teams working in the Great Yarmouth and Waveney area. You will be based at Becccles Hospital and will work with a Health Care Assistant to deliver care to patients across the Great Yarmouth and Waveney areas. The successful candidate will be an experienced practitioner who is able to support patients and their families in challenging situations. As a clinician working out of core hours the role will require an ability to work closely with professionals from other organisations. The night service currently works between the hours of 20.00 and 07.00.
The service delivers unplanned care to patients and will require the successful candidate to be resilient and resourceful. You will be working within an established team of clinicians who visit patients in their own homes and Residential Care, visits are completed by a registered and a non registered nurse working in partnership. The desire to deliver excellent end of life care is essential.
Main duties of the job
The successful nurse will have competence in assessment of patients, who may be in distress, and proven skills in symptom management within end of life care. Competence in urethral and supra-pubic catheter care is also advantageous. The team respond to urgent community response requests including people who have fallen and care crisis.

The post is for 25 hours per week, 5 X 10 hours shifts over 2 weeks which may be rostered as 5 nights consecutively.
