£49,178 - £55,492 per annum inc HCAS per annum pro rota
Childrens Safeguarding advisor post is to work within the Children's safeguarding team for Bromley Healthcare
We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and innovative practitioner to work as a part-time safeguarding advisor This will involve working collaboratively with many different health professionals and other agencies to ensure effective plans are in place to safeguard children and promote their welfare.
This will involve working across multi-agency statutory and non-statutory organisations in order to respond to local and national initiatives, requirements, and legislation. To provide evidence-based advice, support, supervision, training, and leadership to staff involved in the care of children, and their families across Bromley Healthcare This includes ensuring that robust safeguarding supervision is implemented in accordance with the safeguarding supervision policy.
The role may also involve working as part of the MASH/Children's and Families hub, a health team in Bromley that supports the sharing of information to ensure robust outcomes for families, and being a member of MARAC and MCC groups.

The Safeguarding Children Specialist Advisor is an advanced practitioner. Therefore he/she is expected to demonstrate best practice in terms of his/her clinical responsibilities.
To provide evidence based advice, support, supervision, training and leadership to staff involved in the care of children, their families across Bromley Healthcare. This includes ensuring thatrobust safeguarding supervision is implemented in accordance with the safeguarding supervision policy.
To work collaboratively with health professionals and other agencies to ensure effective plans are in place to safeguard children and promote their welfare This will involve working across multi-agency statutory and non-statutory organisations in order to respond to local and national initiatives, requirements and legislation
- To undertake the role and responsibilities of safeguarding children for Bromley Healthcare as detailed in Safeguarding Children and Young People: roles and responsibilities for health care staff: Intercollegiate Document. 2019
- To provide safeguarding supervision, consultation, professional advice, guidance and training to staff and to sensitively guide and support staff working with issues related to vulnerable families and child protection
- The post holder will be required to develop constructive relationships with Multi-agency services and disciplines to ensure that inclusion of appropriate health information is incorporated into a robust multi-agency risk assessment and challenge decisions when appropriate
- To adhere to the NMC code of professional practice and be conversant with the scope of professional practice and other NMC advisory papers. To be ready and prepared for re-validation within personal timescale.
- To promote awareness of safeguarding and promote good professional practice across the organisation
- To actively contribute to the development of links with other agencies.

- To participate in meetings and forums as associated with the business of safeguarding children, representing health services as a champion on safeguarding children as required

- To ensure that the voice of the child and the promotion of anti-discrimination are incorporated into all work with children and young people regardless of race, gender, culture, sexuality, disability or language practice welfare.

- To ensure record keeping documentation and all identified data system electronic records are up to date and well maintained in accordance with all Bromley Healthcare policies, guidelines and standards
