Sexual Health Outreach Lead - Band 6
£42,939 - £50,697 Inc HCAS Per annum pro rata
Part time - 18.75 hours per week
Bromley Healthcare was successful in our bid to provide a Sexual and Reproductive Health service in Bexley. The service will provide comprehensive sexual and reproductive health support, education and outreach to residents of all ages living in Bexley.
The Sexual and Reproductive Health service will include:
Outreach work with target groups including young people, the LGBTQ+ community, those with special educational needs and disability (SEND) and residents who identify as black and minority ethnic (BME) across the borough
Building partnerships with outlets and distributing condoms for our condom distribution schemes
Delivering training to partners to become registration points and condom distribution outlets
Delivery of relationships, sex and health education (RSHE) to young people in community settings and schools
Working with identified at risk groups in the community to offer advice and guidance
Opportunistically offering chlamydia and gonorrhoea tests to under 25s, with a focus on young women, including encouragement to register to the C-Card condom distribution scheme
Promotion of online STI/HIV self-sampling kits with support to access
Main duties of the job
Responsibility for the line management of direct reports, including recruitment, appraisal and management of absence or performance concerns
Day to day management and support of other allocated staff
KPI (Key Performance Indicator) monitoring and reporting, including attendance at commissioning meetings
Proactively develop strong working relationships including Primary Care, specifically with GPs, Practice Nurses and Practice Managers and Community Pharmacies. This will include travelling between various locations across the borough of Bexle
Develop training in line with service specification and KPIs including Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) training (for parents and young people), training for staff delivering RSHE and training for partner organisations

- Degree in relevant subject or equivalent knowledge and experience gained in a sexual health role
- Some sexual health training or relevant experience (previous delivery of sessions with young people and/or high risk groups, ACET, Sex Education Forum or previous FPA training)
- Evidence of CPD in sexual and reproductive health

- Management/Leadership qualification
