Job summary

Apprentice Digital Applications Technician

Full-time - 37.5 hours per week

Apprentice (to move to AFC band 3 when qualified)

Annexe 21 of NHS T's and C's apply to this role so the salary over the course of the apprenticeship is as follows:

Year 1 £20,054.30 (70% of band 3)

The last 3 - 6 months up until completion £21,486.75 (75% of band 3)

(above salaries are subject to national increases if applicable)

Bromley Healthcare is looking for a practical and self-motivated candidate who enjoys teaching and supporting users with the front-end use of various digital software and applications.

The Digital Applications Team hosts a number of different types of systems & software and we are offering this exciting opportunity to someone who is seeking a career in digital technology.

Main duties of the job

This is an opportunity for anyone seeking a career in technology but not sure which route to take. The successful applicant will learn how to configure and support multiple systems and applications hosted by the Digital Applications Team. This is an Apprenticeship role and the applicant will be studying for a qualification in Digital Support Technology. Once qualified the post holder will move into a Band 3

The successful applicant will be the first point of contact for all new users, assist with their user accounts and deliver basic training in the use of multiple applications as well as create and review training modules and tools.

With the implementation of new systems and software to Bromley Healthcare it is important that any candidate can demonstrate an aptitude to delivering a first class service, in a fast paced team, while being self-motivated and positive to change

Job description

Job responsibilities

The post holder will have a key role in assisting the Senior Digital Applications Trainer on delivery of end user training and support. They will have complete autonomy when managing timetables for training sessions and managing their own diary to accommodate site visits and office based drop-in support.

Daily duties will included interacting with a wide variety of internal & external users who use Bromley Healthcares digital systems and applications.

The post holder will work under general direction using discretion in identifying and dealing with complex issues and will determine when issues should be escalated to 2nd and 3rd line support

The successful applicant will interact with and influence others, and may supervise end users or make decisions that reflect Bromley Healthcares Values and Digital Systems Standard Operating Procedures. You will work as a digital champion, training and supporting colleagues to make the best useof digital tools and diagnose problems.

  • Train all new users on the front-end functionality of the clinical system in both desktop and mobile application versions, while ensuring their own knowledge is kept up to date.
  • Train all new users on the front-end functionality of the scheduling system (Malinko) on both desktop and mobile application versions, while ensuring their own knowledge is kept up to date.
  • Train all new users on the new electronic mobile expense claim solution on both desktop and mobile applications versions, while ensuring their own knowledge is kept up to date.
  • Understand how to set the basic configuration for new users/services in the above systems and applications.
  • Be able to create and update existing training materials for all digital applications.
  • Liaise with other BHC trainers, clinical system configuration managers, and IT personnel to find solutions to support the operational delivery of services and end users compliance.
  • Provide cover for the colleague's absence as required by the Digital Applications Team.
  • Undertake responsibilities from time to time as agreed with the Chief Technology Officer/Head of Information and the Finance & Commercial Director
