£49,178 - £55,492 Inc HCAS per annum pro rata
Full time - 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Bromley Healthcare's Safeguarding Service embraces the 'Think Family' model and places a high priority on preventative work. The post holder, alongside other Safeguarding Adult Advisors will act to support the Named Adult Safeguarding Lead and the Associate Director of Safeguarding in ensuring that Bromley Healthcare statutory duties and responsibilities to safeguard adults at risk of abuse or neglect are discharged effectively.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will act as a professional resource to practitioners within Bromley Healthcare, providing expert advice, safeguarding supervision, guidance and support. As a community health provider, Bromley Healthcare staff are supporting service users with increasingly complex safeguarding needs, including self-neglect and domestic abuse. The post holder will therefore have considerable expertise in self-neglect and domestic abuse in order to discharge their duties effectively.
The post holder will be proactive in the delivery of mandatory and bespoke training linked to our teams work in accordance with the Bromley Healthcare's Safeguarding Training Strategy.
The post holder will be well versed with both the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (and the MCA Amendment Act 2019) and the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.

- Ensure staff are supported and empowered to make decisions related to adult.
- Assist with the development, delivery and evaluation of evidence based Safeguarding Training, including Mental Capacity Act (MCA), Deprivation of Liberty safeguards (DoLS), Domestic abuse, Self-neglect and PREVENT to staff across Bromley.
- To act as a resource and provide advice on the use and application of the Mental Capacity Act/Deprivation of Liberty Safeguard (DoLS), in particular the use of least restrictive practice. Enabling staff to complete their assessments and applications in a robust and timely manner.
- Develop and maintain Safeguarding adult resources across Bromley Healthcare, ensuring these are updated in line with any changes in legislation, to ensure compliance and support best practice.
- To work in partnership with Safeguarding Children Advisors/Named Nurses and peers to deliver a think family approach when managing adults at risk or those identified as having increased vulnerability who may have children.
- Contribute to audit and the monitoring of standards relating to safeguarding adults. Support the collection and collation of data to inform changes in practice that may be required from the audit.
- Contribute towards the development of safeguarding adult reports for the Bromley Healthcare board and the Safeguarding Adult Boards.
- Attend any adult safeguarding strategy meetings when required and requested by the Named Adult Safeguarding Lead, as support to staff or as a representative of Bromley Healthcare where appropriate.
- Develop and maintain close partnerships with a range of professionals and external stakeholders, attending relevant meetings as required.
- Develop good interagency communication and foster partnership working with statutory and voluntary organisations, including safeguarding discussions.
- Investigate and respond to accidents, complaints, untoward incidents and other significant events relating to adult safeguarding as appropriate.
- Assist the Named Adult Safeguarding Lead in undertaking statutory reviews and investigations / significant incident process, contributing to the writing of reports and support the shared learning and implementation of any changes required following the findings and recommendations.
- Participate in the relevant Bromley Healthcare meetings and any task and finish groups (including self-neglect and domestic abuse) as required.
- Participate in root cause analysis reviews where organizational abuse is identified and contribute to the development of a protection or service improvement plan to manage identified risk.
