Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Psychologist who has a passion to make a real difference to the way autistic people are diagnosed & access mental health services. We have a 22.5 hour vacancy located across our autism assessment team & CMHS teams. PASS & CMHS are multi-disciplinary teams, where Psychology is very valued. There is the potential to temporarily increase hours for a period of 12 months
We have strong links with the University of Plymouth, including the provision of placements for trainees on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology course &contribution to teaching on the programme. We also take annual industrial placement students from the Undergraduate programme
The post holder is an autonomous practitioner covering the whole catchment area. They are required to undertake highly specialist psychological assessments &interventions with people with autism and mental health conditions &work closely with the MDT
The successful post-holder will join cohesive multi-disciplinary teams clinically lead by two Lead Clinical Psychologists
The developmental nature of this post is such that there is scope for progression to a Band 8a, upon completion of set competencies

Main duties of the job
The post holder will
Undertake autism assessment and treatment of own caseload of clients with variety of complex problems including autism spectrum condition, mental ill-health, personality difficulties, and neurological problems across PASSAT and CMHS.
Support colleagues to develop clinical formulation to aid the diagnostic process.
Identify and provide opportunities for other members of the multi-disciplinary teams to gain understanding of how psychological knowledge can support their work with service users.
Contribute to teaching for trainee clinical psychologists and qualified members of clinical psychology and other professions in Livewell Southwest.
Contribute to research and development projects relevant to furthering both clinical knowledge and service evaluation and delivery.
Be responsible for working within the Guidelines for Professional Practice of the Health & Care Professions Council and the British Psychological Society Division of Clinical Psychology, and for adhering to policies and procedures of Livewell Southwest.
Be responsible for continuing professional development (CPD) in line with the annual appraisal Professional Development Plan PDP, the Knowledge and Skills Framework KSF and the British Psychological Society's requirements for CPD Logs and Practicing Certificate.
Be responsible for keeping aware of and being knowledgeable about current developments within the profession of clinical psychology.
