The post holder will work systematically in exercising their professional skills and responsibilities to provide psychological services and expertise in the (CAMHS) Neurodiversity Pathway.The post holder will contribute professional expertise to the provision of assessment and intervention for children and young people who require a specialist Neuro developmental assessment and CAMHS intervention. In addition, they will provide consultation and training to other agencies and assist in the development of systems of audit/evaluation of the team. This post holder will supervise assistant clinical psychologists/research assistants, trainee psychologist and particular pieces of work conducted by others according to skills and experience.

Main duties of the job

1.The post holder will organise and provide direct specialist psychological assessments of children and young people with Neurodiversity (including learning disability) or waiting to undergo neurodiversity assessment but are presenting with symptoms inline with diagnosis. The child or young person will have complex mental health needs. The post holder will be responsible for, developing formulations and appraising the suitability of various forms of psychological intervention. A range of specialist assessment techniques will be used including psychometric testing, specialist neuro developmental and attachment assessments.2.The post holder will organise, develop, provide and manage psychological interventions to individuals or groups. A range of psychological interventions will be provided to children and young people and their families. The post holder will also be responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of this work, and contribute to improving the quality of their own and others work. 3.The post holder will, as requested, take responsibility for the supervision of assistant clinical psychologists, trainee psychologists and undergraduate students on placement.

All Livewell Southwest staff are expected to able and willing to work across a 7 day service.
