Job summary

Livewell Southwest (LWSW), one of the largest Social Enterprises in the region, is delighted to invite applications for the position of Allied Health Professional (AHP) Lead

LWSW is extremely proud of the AHPS within our organisation & the strong culture of MDT working

You will become a pivotal figure across the Directorate of People &Professionalism by providing professional leadership to our AHPs, as well as having overall responsibility for the strategic leadership of AHPs.

With your remit to influence regional &national agenda; you will be expected to represent the AHPs across LWSW &to work in partnership with other health & social providers.

This is a post that can be influenced by you &, therefore, you should have experience of management with an AHP registration relating to one of the AHP groups. You will require demonstrable leadership skills & a drive for professional excellence.

It is anticipated that you will be an outstanding role model &embody our values within LWSW.

Main duties of the job

To:

Provide strong strategic direction & professional leadership on all aspects of AHP services & bring the AHP perspective to the executive decision making process.

Develop a detailed understanding of all AHP services that reflects their diversity &commonality.

Provide expertise and advice to the LWSW Board in relation to AHP issues through the translation & interpretation of National & other directives.

Lead on strategic planning, service modernisation, AHP workforce &workload planning, AHP education, research training &development &quality of AHP interventions in relation to professional standards, health &social care governance.

Ensure close collaboration with key stakeholders including general managers, professional leads of service, Consultants, GPs, Lead Nurses, Clinical Directors, HEIs &Professional Bodies.

Take a lead for specified services & improvement areas & improvement programmes in a professional capacity.

To actively contribute & participate in the AHP agenda. To regularly represent LWSW at regional & national AHP meetings & events

To work alongside local health & social care partners ensuring a robust & consistent AHP strategy for Plymouth, South Hams & West Devon (SHWD) & the wider STP

To lead on relevant AHP polices.

To provide leadership and direction with respect to the organisations responsibilities for delivering adult social care strategic aims &objectives.

  • Significant AHP Profession experience in Health Care and/or social care setting
