A vacancy has arisen in the OPMH Functional Team based at Mount Gould Hospital for a community mental health nurse to replace the existing post holder who has been offered a band 6 post in another team.
The OPMH Functional Team is a city wide community mental health team working with people aged 65 and over who have or are suspected of having functional mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. We work closely with the local dementia service and therefore a knowledge of Alzheimer's and related conditions plus how physical health can affect mental health would be useful.
The role would suit a qualified mental health nurse with an interest in working with older people but would also be suitable for a newly qualified preceptor or somebody due to qualify in the near future.
This role may not be eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route; please refer to the Direct Gov website for more information with regards to eligibility.
Please note that Livewell may close the job advertisement earlier than the specified deadline if a high number of applications are submitted. Therefore, we recommend you submit your application at the earliest opportunity.
All Livewell staff are expected to be able and willing to work across a 7-day service.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be expected to act as a keyworker to a group of patients under the Personalised Care Framework as well as being involved in the initial assessment of people referred to the team. Other duties include the administration of depot medication, covering duty calls for unallocated patients or when keyworkers are off duty and requesting prescriptions still prescribed by the psychiatrists attached to the team. The role also involves working with other other professionals such as other mental health teams (both community and inpatient), the local district general hospital and its outlying facilities, adult social care, the third sector, GPs and other agencies and of course the family and friends of people on caseload.
