Job summary

Livewell Southwest and the sexual violence and trauma pathfinder programme are loojking to recruit a practice lead for a fixed term contract for 12 months. The postholder will be employed by Livewell but would be working as part of the Trauma Resilience Hub (TRH) hosted by Devon and Cornwall SARC (through an honorary contract with Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust).

The Sexual Violence and Trauma Pathfinder programme is funded by NHS England. The aim is to improve care for adult victims and survivors of sexual assault and abuse with complex trauma related mental health needs so that they can recover, heal and rebuild their lives.

The Trauma Resilience Hub is a multi-disciplinary team (Clinical Psychologist, Psychotherapist, Social Worker and Trauma Stabilisation Worker) to support practitioners who have the trusted relationship to continue to hold people with complex trauma-related mental health needs by providing.

This will be an exciting opportunity to join a devleoping team working with women across Plymouth. Secondment opportunities are considered.

Main duties of the job

The Trauma Resilience Hub is a multi-disciplinary team (Clinical Psychologist, Psychotherapist, Social Worker and Trauma Stabilisation Worker) to support practitioners who have the trusted relationship to continue to hold people with complex trauma-related mental health needs by providing:

Case supervision for practitioners to problem solve support for clients who have complex trauma related mental health needs and well-being practices.

Where the client is falling through the gaps in services, particularly mental health services and practitioner needs support to unblock the pathways, the TRH can support with the completion of a formulation to determine what the person needs and advocacy and multi-agency working to get the system to work for the client.

Therapeutic offer for clients with complex mental health needs where this is not accessible anywhere within the system.

Model and complete formulations with the practitioner and client who needs support to develop a shared understanding of the persons situation and what they need.

Chair client focused multi-agency meetings that are person centred and trauma informed to develop a clear plan that meets the individuals needs.

Model and deliver trauma stabilisation interventions where needed.

Facilitate pathways in trauma processing work when appropriate either within the community voluntary sector or within secondary mental health.

Advocate and navigate mental health services within Livewell on behalf of the trusted practitioner/client.

Essential

  • Registered Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Therapist (with a minimum of 3 years experience in Secondary Mental Health)
  • Post graduate diploma / degree level study related to health/social care or equivalent worked experience relevant to the role
