Job summary

37.5 hours per week. An exciting opportunity has arisen within Plymouth CAMHS for a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to work within the eating disorder pathway and when indicated across CAMHS supporting children and young people who present with a range of mental health difficulties. We are advertising 2 full-time positions (37.5 hrs) within the Eating Disorder Pathway. Working hours to cover 8am - 8pm Monday to Sunday.

This role may not be eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route, please refer to the Direct Gov website for more information with regards to eligibility.

Main duties of the job

The role will include offering mealtime support to young people within their own homes. The candidate will also support physical health checks and monitoring for children and young people within the eating disorder pathway. This will include taking blood pressure, pulse and temperature. Candidates will provide individual support along with co-delivery needs led groups within a community setting to promote well-being and increase resilience (training and supervision will be provided).

The post holder will work within the confines of their mandatory and statutory obligations, to the prevention and control of infection in all care settings.

Create and maintain relationships with young people, parent/carers, offering advice and support where necessary.

Promote and maintain a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment for young people and their families.

To work as part of the locality facing CAMHS to work with children and young people who may present with emerging mental health difficulties.
