This is an exciting time to join the CAMHS Neurodiversity team. We are currently expanding and developing a number of pilot projects offering young people with neurodiversity and mental health difficulties, flexible quality care. The Nursing Associate role is a new and dynamic addition to the team and we are excited at the opportunities it can offer in providing quality and timely care for the young people and their families who access the service.The Nurse Associate will be actively involved in assessing and prescribing care as well as supporting and supervising unregistered staff in deliver of person centred care plans for the individual. The role has the opportunity to develop and facilitate specifically themed group work, working across schools, private and voluntary sector as well as part of an MDT within CAMHS, Education and Social Care.The role offers the opportunity to utilise and promote your nursing registration, taking on leadership roles, providing line management and supervising lower banded staff and students, as well as leading with physical health clinics that support the care delivery for young people. We are looking for a energetic individual that has a passion for providing and developing the best quality person centred care, for the young people with neurodiversity and mental health difficulties within Plymouth.
All Livewell Southwest staff are expected to able and
willing to work across a 7 day service.

Main duties of the job
- The Nursing Associate will work as part of a team, delivering health and social care that focuses on the holistic needs of service users.
- They will carry out specific clinical tasks and responsibilities as delegated by registered practitioner.
- Manage a defined case load under the indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse, using evidence based/client centred principles to undertake a range of delegated tasks independently: assess, plan, implement, evaluate interventions and contribute to the service provision.
- To take responsibility for planned/defined tasks as required.
- To plan and undertake clinical tasks guided by standard operating procedures and protocols.
- To delegate work to support worker staff as required.
- To undertake the ongoing supervision of the routine work of band 2/3 clinicians.
- Take responsibility for the training of others and may be required to deliver training.
- To be responsible for the comprehensive assessment, planning, treatment and evaluation of care for children and young people, under the appropriate delegation from a registered practitioner and in close liaison with the individual/carer and families. Contribute to ongoing assessment recognising when it is necessary to refer to others for reassessment

- To be responsible for the comprehensive assessment, planning, treatment, and evaluation of a specific group of young people under the appropriate delegation from a registered practitioner and in close liaison with young people, families/carers.
- To give compassionate, holistic evidence-based practice to young people and support to families/carers within CAMHS bases and community settings in line with national and organisational approved policies / procedures and individual care plans.
- Undertakes delegated clinical skills within their role having once undertaken relevant training, deemed competent and adhere to standard operating procedures.
- Monitor the condition and health needs of young people within their care on a continual basis in partnership with young people, families/carers, and the CAMHS Multidisciplinary Team
- To demonstrate a working knowledge and understanding of conditions relevant to the clinical area.
- Observes any changes in the young persons condition, manages these changes in line with scope and competence, reporting findings to the most appropriate clinician/team in a timely manner. In the event of a change in young persons status, can safely decide whether to proceed with treatment and/or seeks support from another health professional to decide.
- Safely uses a range of invasive interventions within the defined scope of the role.
- Implements the goal planning process and outcome measures used in the clinical area to review progress of the patient.
