Job summary

22.75 hours per week.

A highly motivated individual; who can work using own initiative, as well as able to follow directives, is required to join the Facilities Catering Team.The post holder in conjunction with other support staff will help to provide and maintain an efficient catering service for the in-patient wards, Café Gould and LCC Café.

Your main duties will include providing a catering service of in-patient meals and to the cafes. You must have an understanding of managing food allergies, calorie labelling and Natasha's Law.

You will work flexibly across a seven-day week service and may be required to work in alternative Livewell Southwest locations. You will also be required to work alternative shifts to cover annual leave or sickness to meet service needs.

Shifts patterns vary and you may be required to work weekends and bank holidays. Shifts range between 7.30am and 5.30pm.

Main duties of the job

The post holder in conjunction with other support staff will help to provide and maintain an efficient catering service for the in-patient wards, Café Gould and LCC Café.

To prepare food requirements for Café Gould / LCC Cafes.

Set up, serve and provide a food service in Café Gould / LCC Café. Prepare and serve hot and cold food, i.e. sandwiches, salads, jacket potatoes, pasties, etc.

Assisting with preparation of food and refreshments for buffets / functions.

Answering telephone queries. Providing dietary advice including allergy information.

Safe handling of money, managing cash transactions and cashing up till.

Assist with the safe receipt, storage and stock control of dry goods / confectionary / frozen food / chilled food deliveries.

Provide face to face customer service.

Any other duties which may reasonably be requested by the Catering Manager or the Hotel Services Management Team.

To demonstrate knowledge and strictly adhere to Food Safety Legislation and Livewell Southwest Safe Catering Practices.

Cleaning duties including the cleaning of fridges, freezers, equipment, floor areas and emptying of bins. To clean preparation areas and café facilities including toilets.
