Job summary

HR People Advisor (37.5 hours per week)

We have a great opportunity for you to join our HR People Team at Livewell Southwest. As a People Advisor you would work within designated service areas providing HR operational support, advice and coaching on terms and conditions of employment, people policies and procedures, employment legislation and good people management practice. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and manage relationships with colleagues, teams and managers.

To apply you should hold Associate Membership of the CIPD and have prior experience in Human Resources within a large complex organisation. Preferably you will be working towards Chartered Member status. We are looking for a highly organised and solution focused individual able to provide options for managers where situations are complex and where a high level of emotional intelligence and self-awareness will be required.

Main duties of the job

You should have the ability to work in a busy environment, working autonomously, whilst prioritising your workload effectively with competing demands. The successful candidate will demonstrate a sound knowledge of current employment legislation and good HR practice. You will be required to undertake project work and contribute to HR policy development and implementation taking account of current legislation

Advise and support managers in managing absence, discipline and grievance, capability issues and management of change. This may include participation in meetings and on occasions advising managers at hearings where complex and sensitive information is communicated.

Work in partnership with managers to develop effective solutions to HR management issues through the effective use of questioning, listening, persuasion and negotiating skills.

Support the development of managers people management skills through advice, coaching and training.

Line management responsibilities may be required for junior members of the team.

Interprets and reviews changes to employment legislation and uses this knowledge to contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies.

Training and Development

Preparing and delivering training and development activities including identifying appropriate training solutions to a variety of audiences e.g. conduct, capability, induction, maternity.

Other Responsibilities
