Job summary
The Volunteer may visit patients on wards, listen and give encouragement to them, assist in Eucharistic Ministry as appropriate, push patients who are wheelchair users to chapel services and assist with the service if appropriate, meet patients religious needs by giving appropriate resources. The Volunteer assists alongside the Lead Chaplain to meet patients spiritual and pastoral needs, and keeps records and makes referrals or reports back to the Chaplain on any aspects of the work. Commitment to keep mandatory training up to date, abide by local policies, and attend Team Meetings and Supervision.
Time Commitment:
We would ask for 2 hours per week between 9.30am 4.30pm on an agreed day/time for a minimum of 6 months. We would not expect a volunteer to attend any more than 2 days per week.
