We
are excited to be offering an opportunity for CBT or EMDR therapist to work
within the Psychotherapy service. We are seeking highly motivated mental health
professionals to join our CBT/EMDR team at Plymouth Psychotherapy service.
You should have
experience of liaising closely with GPs, CMHTs & other statutory &
third sector organisations. You should also have a proven track record of
working with those experiencing difficulties in their mental health.
The role is
open to individuals with a BABCP recorded/registered Core profession (see https://www.babcp.com/Accreditation/Core-Profession.aspx)
e.g. MH Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Psychologist, Arts therapy
& accredited counsellors (MBACP).
All Livewell Southwest staff are expected to able and willing to work across a 7 day service.

Main duties of the job
JOB PURPOSE
- To provide and develop specialist CBT and/or EMDR services to people across Plymouth within secondary mental health care.
- To assess and provide treatment for individuals referred by CMHTs and others as appropriate
- To provide CBT/EMDR supervision to Livewell Southwest staff
- To provide CBT training in partnership with the University as well as core training for Livewell in CBT/EMDR support.
- To support the Lead Professionals or Service Manager on issues relating to CBT/EMDR services and ensure that national guidelines are adhered to.
- Promote and participate in professional reflection and Clinical Supervision.
- To ensure accurate record keeping for the referral process and interventions using the agreed information systems.
- To work with the other senior clinicians to provide relevant information and data to Livewell, primary care, team and service manager and professional leads as required.
- To attend the agreed meetings, liaising with the Clinical Lead, supervisor and Service manager on matters of service development.
- To work with senior colleagues to utilize research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the service and the mental health service, and to disseminate this information widely.
- The post does not have any budgetary or managerial responsibilities other than the appropriate use of Livewell resources.
