We are offering the opportunity for people to join the Assistant Practitioner apprenticeships starting in March 2024 as a Band 3 Trainee Assistant Practitioner (£22,816 pa, pro rata). You will be required to work a minimum of 30 hours a week, learning and working in one of our teams across the Livewell footprint, whilst attending Plymouth Marjon University for 1 day a week to study a Foundation degree.
On successful completion of the 2 year apprenticeship you will have gained a foundation degree and a higher-level apprenticeship qualification, becoming a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner (£25,147 pa, pro rata).

Main duties of the job
Assistant Practitioner:
The Assistant Practitioner is a stand-alone non-registered role. They are trained to specialise in a particular area and setting within healthcare, delivering high quality patient centred care. No placements are required. During the programme, you will complete a specialist module linked to your area of healthcare. The specialist modules include areas such as mental health, Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy, podiatry and public health.
During the apprenticeship you will work as Trainee Assistant Practitioner developing clinical skills, knowledge and experience linked to the Assistant Practitioner apprenticeship standard. You will be based within one of our teams at Livewell. Preference will be taken at interview.
You must have GCSE Maths & English at Grade 4 or above OR Level 2 Maths & English Functional Skills
NVQ level 2 or equivalent qualifications, or able to demonstrate the skills, knowledge & behaviours to work at this level
To be eligible for an apprenticeship you must have been a resident of the UK for the last 3 years before the start date of the apprenticeship.

- In order to be eligible for the Assistant Practitioner apprenticeship, you must hold both GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or above, OR hold level 2 Functional skills qualifications in English and Maths.
- The post holder will need to travel and attend to service users based across all areas of Plymouth. Full and valid driving license and access to a car for work purposes is required.
- Reasonable adjustments under the Equality Act will be taken into account for the successful applicant

- If you do not hold a Level 3 programme, Livewell Southwest will support you to complete the apprenticeship Bridging Programme to allow you access to the full Band 4 Apprenticeship.
