The Sexual Violence and Trauma Pathfinder programme
is looking for a new exciting role for a Community Mental Health Practitioner to support innovative and transformational system change and to improve
services in Plymouth. You will support organisations in Plymouth who are already working
with women with complex lives to work with the trauma they will have
experienced, including sexual violence (see PowerPoint presentation). The key focus of the role is to upskill
practitioners in trauma stabilisation throughout the sector and facilitate
pathways in trauma processing work either within the community voluntary sector
or within secondary mental health. You will be line managed by the complex
needs team but will be based in the Sunflower women's centre. Trevi is a nationally award-winning women's and
children's charity based in South West England. They provide safe and nurturing
spaces for women in recovery to heal, grow and thrive. For more information see Home - Trevi. This is an ambitious and complex programme of work requiring
collaboration with multiple partners, offering supervision and support to those
working in the services, supporting people to navigate mental health systems. This
role is working with women who have experienced sexual violence. Women only
need apply under schedule 9 (Part 1) of the Equality Act 2010. Successful
applicants will receive regular line management and supervision, have access to
ongoing training and support.
Main duties of the job
The complex needs team
offer assessment of needs, development, implementation and evaluation of care
for patients from a specified group of women who have experienced sexual
violence, demonstrate high risk behaviours and have difficulties with engaging
with services.
The role will involve supporting women who have experienced sexual violence to access mental health services, and supprt staff working within these services to naviagate systems.

complex needs, high risk behaviors and difficulties with engaging with
services.
This role
will involve working closely with partner agencies, offering supervision and
support to those working in the services, supporting people to navigate mental
health systems.
The service
is for any women residing in Plymouth. The practitioner is responsible for
providing advice, signposting and face to face contact to a defined group of people
with mental health problems in a community setting. To provide caseload
management and support to a defined caseload also to provide teaching and
supervision to students and others undertaking educational programmes.
