Job summary
ASPIRE programme (commences mid-June 2023) Get paid to train to become a Registered Nurse Learning Disability (RNLD), with Neurodiversity (subject to eligibility).

Get paid to work and train the field of Learning Disability Nursing with this exciting two-part programme.
Part 1 PgCert Professional Certificate in Preparing for Practice in Nursing individuals with Learning Disability (or with Neurodiversity). This is for a 7-month duration as a trainee RNLD paid at Band 4
Part 2 Apprenticeship MSc Pre-registration Learning Disability Nursing (with Neurodiversity). Where agreed at interview, you will get an automatic entry on to part 2 on successful completion/pass of part 1.
Commencing in February 2024 this is for a 2-year duration, with a paid salary at Band 4 for those eligible or alternatively you can choose the Direct Entry Route (funded by student finance England (subject to eligibility).
Minimum entry requirements:
A previous degree with a 3rdclassification or a foundation degree
Level 2 Numeracy and Literacy (or equivalent at a pass rate)
The Community Learning Disability Team Plymouth, would love to hear from motivated people with relevant experience to join our energetic and forward-thinking services as a Trainee/Apprenticeship Registered Nurse Learning Disability.
Main duties of the job
Work under the guidance and support of the team or identified nurse to assist the Community Learning disability team in delivering their clinical day-to-day activities and overall service protocols, and processes.
To communicate any changes in the persons presentation to immediate senior person or appropriate professional in a timely manner.
To offer emotional support, advice, information, and education where appropriate to people using services, carers and their family including signposting them to other services.
To maintain good working relations with members of the team and wider
Giving information and assistance to people using services and their carers so that they are aware of their rights, entitlements and the contents of their care plan.
Have input to team communication systems and handovers.
Deal with general enquiries from other professionals, patients, and members of the public.
Undertake general office duties such as typing / letters, filing, data input, answering telephones, photocopying / scanning, preparing papers for meetings etc.
Be involved in service user or other engagement groups as directed.
Be involved in the development of other staff in relation to LD or Autism awareness training.
Adhere to and aim to achieve the required level for the module learning, nurse competencies and practice hours of the Aspire program.
All Livewell Southwest staff are expected to able and willing to work across a 7 day service.
