Job summary

The Participation & Involvement Specialist is a new post that will allow for the ongoing recruitment, support and deployment of people with lived experience into a Livewell Southwest Participation Programme, supporting the organisation in codesigned service improvement.

You will work alongside the Service User Experience Manager to coordinate and manage the organisations service user involvement agenda by leading and advising on co-design, co-production and involvement activities.

You will use story telling as a tool to increase participation and understanding of service user experience through video. The postholder will also support organisation-wide engagement activities.

Main duties of the job

Work across services in order to implement a Participation Programme for LSW

Be a point of expertise for staff undertaking Involvement activities, offering practical advice and support.

Assist in development of engagement formats and other co-design projects.

Contribute to the continued development and improvement of user participation culture within the organisation.

To use story telling as a tool to increase participation and understanding of service user experience

Work closely with the Volunteering Team and Quality Improvement Team in recruitment and deployment of Experts by Experience

Supporting People with Lived Experience when participating in involvement activities

Develop working arrangements that ensure the involvement of service users, the public and recognised external organisations in the identification of issues for the improvement of services

Train and support staff and service users in participation approaches such as co-design and coproduction

Support and oversee organisation-wide engagement activities

Promote, develop and engage colleagues both internally and externally in utilising various engagement platforms.

Ensure new and existing staff members can receive training and/or development relevant to their role.

To produce reports for internal committees and meetings

All Livewell Southwest staff are expected to be able and willing to work across a 7 day service.
