Job summary

Are you looking to embark on the next phase in your career as a Non-Executive Director? Livewell Southwest are offering two Associate NED roles with a development programme that would enable you to progress to a full NED role either with Livewell Southwest, or another health and social care provider. In return you would provide your skills and expertise in one of the key fields outlined below to support the Livewell Southwest Board in its strategic decision making.

Livewell Southwest is a respected provider of integrated physical and mental health, and social care services to a population of about 270,000 across South Hams, West Devon and Plymouth, with additional responsibilities for delivering specialist services to people living in parts of Cornwall and Devon. We are at an exciting time in our journey, so this is an exceptional opportunity for two new Associate Non- Executive Directors to work alongside our outstanding Board of NEDs and Executive Leaders to drive the next phase of our development, as well as the wider transformation of health and social care across the region.

Main duties of the job

The role of Associate NED is an exciting opportunity for a creative and collaborative individual to help shape the future of service delivery and the future of Livewell Southwest. It is a role which has engagement and partnerships at its heart. Partnerships based on mutual trust and ambition, together with the engagement and empowerment of our workforce will underpin our ability to drive innovation in service delivery and shape new ways of working.

We are seeking passionate individuals who can enthuse others to deliver the vision of true integration by proactively contributing at a system and local level to take forward new ideas and innovation, engaging in a meaningful way with clinicians, other service providers and the wider community to shape service development and provide leadership which champions the capabilities of our people.

For these posts, we are seeking candidates who with visionary leadership can bring a broad range of skills which include:

• Digital innovation

• People / change management

• Community engagement / relationship building

Beyond these skills you will bring an interest in health and social care, enthusiasm, energy, firm resolve and inspirational leadership. Some understanding of health service delivery will be considered desirable together with knowledge and understanding of the Plymouth community, its demographics, and the health needs of the population.

All Livewell Southwest staff are expected to able and willing to work across a 7 day service.
