Job summary

The role of this post is to provide finance and data focused support to the business. The postholder will be responsible for liaising directly with internal and external stakeholders to ensure good financial management and credit control.

Main duties of the job

Finance

  • Processing, checking and coding non-PO supplier invoices received , raising queries with the relevant parties for resolution.
  • Check and code staff timesheets.
  • Reconcile patient card payments received against patient invoices in the PMS.
  • Record staff additional hours and expenses for approval.
  • Collate receipts and log relevant budget codes against usage of company credit cards.
  • Manage Contractor queries regarding submission and payment of invoices and credit.
  • Assist with provision of sales/activity data for the Finance Team to generate sales invoices for distribution via Shared Business Services.
  • Liaise with Commissioners to answer queries relating to sales invoices, backing data and support the resolution of any blocks to payment.
  • Monitor payment of sales invoices, support and escalate non-payment to relevant parties.

Data and Performance Analysis

  • Assist with production of reports, data submissions and audits to share with the management team and a variety of different stakeholders.
  • Support provision of business performance insight alongside the data, identifying trends and possible causes to allow effective decision making.
  • Assist with the development of finance and data related processes to improve efficiency.
  • Ensure data is up-to-date and collated and stored in an appropriate manner.
  • Work alongside management to identify areas where audits and reports could support service improvement.
  • Work with dashboards to monitor compliance with KPIs.

  • Training in Microsoft Office to Intermediate level.

Desirable

  • ECDL / similar qualification or equivalent experience

WORK RELATED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in business administration with an operational background.
  • Experience in a customer/client facing role, liaising with external stakeholders.

Desirable

  • Experience in a finance role.
  • Previous experience of the design and interpretation of data and compliance to Key Performance indicators.
  • Previous experience within a medical/clinical business.

SKILLS & APTITUDES

Essential

  • Reliable, accurate and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to resolve queries competently and to escalate to line manager when necessary.

Desirable

  • Previous experience of patient-based systems such as SystmOne.
