Job summary

Nottingham CityCare Partnership has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Learning and Development to join our team based at the Exchange Learning Centre in Nottingham (Subject to a Department move).

With a workforce of around 1200 employees, this is a pivotal role in developing our current and future workforce to ensure they are equipped with knowledge and skills to deliver high quality, effective services as well as developing meaningful careers.

The Head of Learning and Development will lead and provide management of the Workforce Learning and Development section within the People, Communications and Inclusion Directorate at Nottingham CityCare Partnership CIC.

The post will enable the implementation of the Workforce and Organisational Development strategic objectives to be achieved and the organisation to achieve an inclusive approach to improvement areas identified in the Staff Survey.

The successful postholder will be qualified to Masters Degree level in a relevant subject area, have a relevant teaching/training qualification and minimum of 5 years experience at a senior level within an Organisational Development or Learning and Development / Human Resources environment.

Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Deputy Director of People and OD, the Head of Learning and Development will provide strong, visible leadership in the development and delivery of the workforce learning and development agenda.

The role will also ensure all training provision meets quality standards, competency frameworks and statutory and regulatory requirements such as Health and Safety at Work Act, Care Quality Commission Standards, NICE Guidance, Resuscitation Council Guidelines etc.

The post will ensure the provision of education, learning and organisational development services provided by the Learning and Development Team, as well as mandatory and essential training, apprenticeships agenda, leadership and management development frameworks, appraisal and talent management systems within Education Governance arrangements.

The post will require effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including commissioners and education providers. The post holder will be responsible for delegated budgets, including all income generation, cost improvement and usage of the Apprenticeship Levy in line with standard financial procedures.

Reporting to the Deputy Director of People & OD, the post holder will lead the learning and development team in delivering its remit for the development, implementation, and delivery of Corporate Induction, Clinical skills training, values-based learning interventions, organisational development interventions, leadership and management development, e-learning, apprenticeships and career development schemes, including volunteering and community engagement.

The role will also ensure all training provision meets quality standards, competency frameworks and statutory and regulatory requirements such as Health and Safety at Work Act, Care Quality Commission Standards, NICE Guidance, Resuscitation Council Guidelines.
