The Paediatric Bladder and Bowel Team are recruiting to a specialist support worker post working part-time 24 hours a week. The team are a flexible team working Monday to Friday based primarily at Sherwood Rise Health Centre and undertake clinics both at other health centre bases and specialist schools.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and conscientious support worker with an interest in paediatric continence to join the team within the Bladder and Bowel Service. We are a dynamic, developing service providing education, advice, support, and clinical care.
You will be supporting the Paediatric Specialist Bladder and Bowel Nurses with children and young people some of which will have disabilities and complex needs. The role will involve continence assessments, treatment plan reviews, education, product reviews and continence promotion with the support of the specialist nursing team.
You will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You must be able to manage tasks efficiently and effectively manage your time. Ability to work flexibly within the team is advantageous.
The hours of work will be 8.30 5.00 excluding weekends and bank holidays.

Main duties of the job
- Act with the Paediatric Bladder and Bowel Specialist Nurses as a key worker for children with complex continence needs within the family and in specialist schools.
- As a health professional, become involved with co-ordinating pathways of care and help develop the service to meet national guidance and standards.
- Provide assessment, advice and support empowering families in supporting children to manage their incontinence and/or promote continence.
- Provide assessment and review for the appropriate use of continence products.
- Act as a liaison between hospital and home.
- Act as a specialist resource by providing education and advice to multi-disciplinary staff.
- Attend multi-agency professional meetings if required.
