Job summary
Nottingham CityCare are excited to announce that we are recruiting to a Children and Young Peoples Practitioner (CYPP) post within the Southglade/Bestwood team.
Nottingham CityCare is a dynamic organisation, commissioned to provide NHS services in the community.
You will be part of our 0-19 Public Health team, working in various community settings and clients homes, supporting Health Visitors in the delivery of the 0-19 Healthy Child Programme, via our universal and targeted approaches. We are currently recruiting a CYPP that is committed to supporting and delivering public health messages to the families within Nottingham City. You will need to be a confident practitioner, who has excellent communication skills and a passion to embrace and support equality and diversity.
To support in post, you will have access to a plethora of mandatory and role specific training, with protected time for ongoing professional development. We have a robust competency package which will ensure you feel confident and competent to practice without direct supervision.
We also have a dedicated Safeguarding Service who will provide you with safeguarding advice, support and supervision. Our supervision package also includes management supervision and clinical/restorative supervision when required.
Main duties of the job
Your work will centre largely around supporting families who have been assessed to require some additional support in a number of areas, these are commonly referred to as Programmes of Care. This may be in relation to sleep, speech, language and communication, behaviour and parenting, continence and healthy lifestyles. On some occasions you may need to holistically assess a childs development and escalate any significant concerns to the caseload holder.
Most importantly, the successful candidate will need to be able to use verbal and non-verbal communication skill in order to engage families in meaningful conversations in keeping with evidence based key public health messages. They will need to have an approach which is restorative and empathetic. The post holder will be expected to have some knowledge of the specific needs unique to families residing within Nottingham City
