Do you want an exciting opportunity to be part of our integrated Childrens Public Health 0-19 Nursing teams and deliver safe and effective care in order to give Nottinghams children the best start in life?
We require an enthusiastic Nurse to join our team. You will be part of our Childrens Public Health 0-19 Nursing Service working specifically for the childrens health and advice hub (CHAH). You will be working as part of the CHAH team supporting with telephone calls from residents within the city as well as professionals working with these children signposting and dealing with any concerns these families/professionals may have. You will support the texthealth service and respond to our 0-19 years integrated multi-agency partnership approach to promote health and contribute to tackling health inequalities in line with local and national guidelines, public health priorities and safeguarding responsibilities.
You will be able to demonstrate;
- Some experience of / a passion for working with Children, Young People and Families.
- A desire to improve your skills and knowledge of Childrens Community Nursing
- Excellent communication skills; (both written and verbal), coupled with good IT and organisational/ prioritising skills, with the ability to work within a team setting as well as independently.
- Positive outlook and responsive to changes.
- Knowledge and experience in addressing safeguarding issues.
- Knowledge of key public health issues affecting Children, Young People and Families .
Main duties of the job
You will be working within the CHAH team answering telephone calls from Nottingham city families on any concerns they may have about their child and signposting them in the right direction. You will be taking phone calls from other professionals and advising them on where to get more information or give informaion as required..
You will also be trained in text health answering via texts any concerns a parent or child may have about their health.
You will be supporting the wider skill mixed CHAH team consisting of administrators, children and young peoples practitioners, quality support officers and a Health Visitor.
You will be assessing all new children that move into Nottingham city and advising teams if they require a home visit or not as per policies and SOPs.
We support staff with their continued professional development, clinical supervision, preceptorship, specific banding forums, vision events, and cooperate induction to the service.
The hours of work will be fulltime 37.5 hours Monday to Friday and will be discussed at interview. The Service hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am 5pm excluding weekends and bank holidays.
