The Marketing and Comms Team at Small Steps Big Changes is on the lookout for a confident, accomplished and experienced Marketing & Communication Officer.
Small Steps Big Changes (SSBC) is a 10 year Fulfilling Lives - A Better Start (ABS) National Lottery Community Funded Programme. This is a partnership programme between Nottingham CityCare Partnership (the accountable body for the funding and employer of the team), the City Council, Health Services, voluntary & community sector, and parents.
The SSBC programme is eight years old, and we need someone who can help us meet our new and evolving priorities in relation to legacy and storytelling as we approach our final years of funding.
Were looking for an experienced marketing and communication professional who is inspired and motivated by new challenges, is enthusiastic and forward thinking with experience of working in partnership to support promotion of a range of services for families, babies, and young children.
Previous experience of working in the public, voluntary or charitable sector is advantageous.
We are a passionate and dynamic team with high expectations, who thrive on making a difference. We are a test and learn programme and part of the role will be supporting the team to share evidence of our learning and the impact of our work to date.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work as part of the Marketing and Communications at a crucial time to communicate key messages, share evidence of our learning and impact and promote the work of the SSBC partnership programme using creative tools and approaches.
The main duties of this job are:
- Provide marketing and communications expertise to support delivery of the programmes priorities
- Lead and oversee the production of all marketing and communication materials and activities including advertising, PR, presentations, reports etc ensuring key messages are shared on time with relevant audiences
- Develop on-brand marketing and communication campaign materials and toolkits to support partners to promote SSBC commissioned services
- Identify and evaluate new opportunities for promotion of services and the SSBC programme to existing and emerging audiences

The Marketing and Communication Officer will provide expertise and support the marketing and communications of key messages locally and nationally. They will assist in promoting the programme and its commissioned services using creative tools and approaches keeping children at the heart, parents leading the way and supported by professionals.
They will support the development of events, brand fidelity, as well as supporting internal and external communications, including written, oral, digital and social media.
They will adopt an integrated and brand-led approach to developing and implementing a wide variety of marketing & communications initiatives, in line with both the SSBC marketing & communications objectives and Programme objectives

Key Responsibilities
- Provide expertise to support & promote the successful delivery of the SSBC communications and marketing activity and ensure this is a consideration when services are being designed
- Actively contribute to the on-going Marketing & Communications plan for the programme, ensuring it is tailored to each audience and via all external, internal, on & offline channels to support the promotion of the programme and its activities
- Support the Marketing & Communications Manager in the provision of written information for Partnership Board, Community Fund etc. in a variety of formats
- Act as key counsel for all marketing & communications initiatives and advise and guide colleagues, to ensure communications activities are on-brand
- Develop additional guidance for communications and marketing, FAQ sections on the internet, stakeholder briefings, as required
- Ensure internal/external communications platforms are kept up to date with SSBC and commissioned services information (internet, intranet, facebook, twitter)
- Lead and oversee the production of all marketing & communications materials and activities including (advertising, PR, promotional materials, events, presentations, newsletter, annual report) ensuring and timely messages are issued to relevant audiences
- Lead in the development, planning and implementation of effective public relations, at national and local levels. Ensure the pro-active placement of good news stories to promote the programme
- Identify new opportunities and channels to promote the SSBC programme at national and local level, working alongside SSBC posts to ensure a coordinated approach and communication of these
- Support the ongoing development and implementation of integrated digital strategy for SSBC
- Manage the editorial content and updates of the website & social media channels (including facebook & twitter) working with relevant partner agencies as necessary, to ensure prompt and timely messages are issued to relevant audiences
