Job summary
This is an
exciting opportunity to join a well established team in North East Lincolnshire
providing Neurodiversity services to people with Autism and ADHD. The service
aims to meet the unique needs of this population by providing various
assessment and treatment, intervention and support pathways using a psychology
led, multidisciplinary, needs led, person centred approach and peer led offer.
You will join
a well established specialist service to provide specialist clinical psychology
input and continue to develop the service in line with recent national
recommendations for all age neurodiversity services.
Please note the earliest start date for this position is 2nd November 2026.
Main duties of the job
The
successful candidate will provide clinical leadership and operational
management within the Neurodiversity Service, supporting and developing staff
members across the team. They will oversee MDT assessment and review clinics,
undertake specialist psychological assessments, and provide individual and
group interventions where appropriate.
The post holder will also offer clinical consultation to colleagues and
those supporting neurodivergent individuals, contributing specialist expertise
to service development and clinically relevant projects. In addition, they will
deliver training, facilitate peer supervision, and promote best practice for
professionals working within Neurodiversity Services across North East
Lincolnshire

MAIN CLINICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
To provide comprehensive highly specialist psychological and
neuropsychological assessments and intervention within a multidisciplinary
team. This will involve the skilled use, interpretation, and integration of
complex information from multiple sources, including psychometric and
neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, structured
observations, and semi-structured interviews with service users, family members
and carers
To formulate, evaluate and make decisions about treatment
options taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly
complex factors, concerning historical and developmental processes that have
shaped the individual, family or group.
Provide expert opinion and deliver detailed written reports
for referrers and service users to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
Use and interpret complex psychological measures
appropriately and ethically.
Participate in MDTs, to present psychological findings and
offers recommendations and psychological input.
To provide psychological advice, guidance and consultations
to other professionals contributing directly to individuals formulations,
diagnosis, and treatment plan.
Offer short-term evidence-based psychological interventions
or recommendations for psychological care pathways where indicated.
Contribute to staff training and help to support the
development of a wider understanding of neurodiversity.
Contribute to equitable access and culturally competent
assessment, taking into account the service users culture, language,
education, ethnicity and neurodiversity.
Undertakes risk assessment and risk management for service
users and provides specialist advice to other professionals on psychological
aspects of risk assessment and risk management.
Liaises regularly with other professionals involved with the
service users care, ensuring any concerns regarding welfare or risk to self or
others is passed on in a timely manner.
Autonomously manage complex assessments caseload effectively.
Provide clinical supervision and support to other trained
professionals.
Support with the development of non-qualified psychological
professionals and trainees, which may include supervision, teaching or support
with their continued professional development.
Participate in working groups across the organisation, when
agreed with line manager, providing a psychological perspective and inputting
on clinical pathways when appropriate.
To build links with local universities, representing the
service when required and assist in providing clinical placements to Psychology
doctorate students.
Develop positive working relationships with other local
Psychology services, liaising with other Psychology professionals and promoting
the service in a professional manner.
Maintaining professional registrations and accredited status
where required, meeting the needs for continued professional development.
To participate in formal research, as and when required.
