Since 2009
NHS North East Lincolnshire Talking Therapies service has provided low and high
intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, EMDR, couples psychotherapy,
Counselling for Depression and Interpersonal Therapy. The clinical team
consists of High Intensity Therapists, Counsellors, Psychological Wellbeing
Practitioners, Interpersonal Therapists and Employment Advisors.
We
are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and dedicated individual to train and
become qualified as High Intensity Cognitive Behaviour Therapist. This is a
highly sought after opportunity to train to deliver CBT to people experiencing
moderate mental health problems. You are fully supported in your journey and we
offer a preceptorship once qualified.
Main duties of the job
This is a
training role within the NHS England service. The post-holder will work within
the NHS Talking Therapies service providing high intensity interventions whilst
undertaking a programme of training for this role. This intensive training post will equip the
post holder to provide a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) service to clients
with a range of complex problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically
effective. The post holder will work in the service for three days of the week
using the newly developed skills whilst attending the training programme for
the other two days.
The post
holder will work flexibility within the operating hours of the service, and
progress to Band 7 upon successful completion of the course and application is
made for accreditation with the BABCP.
NHS
Talking therapies provides both remote therapy and in person. Clinicians work
the majority of their time from the office, community and option of homeworking
- service need dependent.

CLINICAL
Accept
referrals via agreed protocols within the service.
Assess
clients suitability for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and follow the relevant
pathways, if not appropriate.
Make
decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the services referral
protocols, and refer clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral
agent as necessary.
Formulate,
implement and evaluate therapy programmes for clients.
Educate and
involve family members and others in treatment, conveying CBT formulations with
sensitivity in easily understood language.
Adhere to an
agreed activity contract relating to the number of client contacts offered, and
clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and
ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient.
Attend
multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals or clients in treatment,

Complete all
requirements relating to data collection within the service.
Keep coherent
records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols
Work closely
with other members of the team ensuring appropriate step-up and step-down
arrangements to maintain a stepped care approach and integrate issues re work
and employment into therapy process.

Attend and
fulfil all the requirements of the training element of the post.

learning form the training programme in practice
Receive
supervision from educational providers in relation to course work to meet the
required standards.
PROFESSIONAL
Maintain
standards of practice according to the employer and any regulating,
professional and accrediting bodies (eg BPS,
UKCP, BABCP), and keep up to date on new recommendations/guidelines set
by the department of health (e.g NHS plan, National Service Framework, National
Institute for Clinical Excellence).

records in relation to Continued Professional Development up-to-date and ensure
Personal Development Plans contains specialist knowledge of the latest
theoretical developments.
Be involved/contribute
in the positive promotion of NHS Talking Therapies to other services and the
local community, taking ownership of the services success by monitoring their
own performance and best practice.
To maintain
up-to-date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and procedures
in relation to Mental Health and Primary Care Services.
