Job summary
This is your
opportunity to be a part of a new and exciting Dual Diagnosis Service, this
new service is provided in conjunction with our colleagues at We Are With
You. The post holder will help to develop and deliver dual diagnosis
services, ensuring that high quality services are delivered to service users
with complex diagnosis. The post holder will work alongside the other members
of the dual diagnosis team to offer evidenced based interventions to service
users in the community. The post holder will assist the dual diagnosis Lead
to develop and maintain high quality standards of care.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be part of a joint
project between Navigo and With You to provide dual diagnosis support for
those who are experiencing both mental health and substance issues. The team
work along side a small but varied MDT inclusive of a Dr, Nurse, Recovery
Workers, Peer Support and Support Workers. The team support people with a
variety of tasks inclusive of signposting, emotional support, harm reduction,
substance advance and onward referral to support people to be empowered
within their lives and support them to achieve their set.

Job responsibilities
1. To support the development and implementation of
treatment within the field of dual diagnosis (mental health and substance
use/misuse) for service users identified as potentially having a dual
diagnosis.
2. To provide one to one sessions with service users,
ensuring that care and recovery planning in relation to Substance misuse is
conducted on an individual basis according to the specific needs of the service
user.
3 To establish, sustain and disengage from therapeutic
relationships with individuals.
4. To interact and co-operate with service users, relatives,
and other professionals and any community services as appropriate.
5. To have professional responsibility for promoting
equality, diversity, and rights.
6. To work closely with ward-based nursing teams and
multidisciplinary teams to support the implementation of substance misuse care
plans
7. To implement and monitor treatment plans with service
users that address their needs in relation to mental health and substance
misuse problems.
8. To assess and act upon immediate risk of danger to
service users and/or others.
9.. To educate and give information to service users and
others in the care of the client on issues related to mental health problems
and substance misuse.
10. To support service users to engage in interventions
aimed at addressing their substance misuse difficulties.
11. Able to deliver structured psychosocial interventions
including harm reduction/minimization strategies, motivational interviewing,
CBT programmes, problem solving, behavioural interventions and counselling
techniques as negotiated with individual service users. (Training provided).
12. To co-facilitate and support the delivery of group
programmes throughout Navigo's in-patient services and within the community.
13. When required to advocate for service users.
14. Where appropriate, to engage friends and family of the
service user in their treatment

- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
- Training in vocational work, career advice or equivalent experience gained through work in the field.
